THE HIGH PATRONAGE OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
At the request of prof. Michał Kleiber, the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences, prof. Tadeusz Baczko, the representative of the "Polska 2020" Forecasting Committee at the Presidium of PAS, prepared an elaboration of the cooperation between the scientific community and business representatives.
The question of interaction between science and business starts to garner the attention of both sides who are now more aware of its advantages. Small and medium-sized enterprises, who constitute the most important part of the Polish economy, should, in the coming years, become partners of research and development processes conducted by specialised scientific communities. Despite the natural differences between science and business, they have much more in common. Both of these environments participate in innovative processes, propound pioneering pro-development ideas and encounter barriers to them. The scope of the cooperation between these two environments is highlighted by the watchword that has accompanied the European Congress of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises since its first edition: Science – Business – Self-Government TOGETHER FOR ECONOMY.
